Building Readers
These summer Reading Workshops are designed to help students make meaningful progress through small group, structured literacy instruction in a warm and encouraging environment. Workshops will meet twice weekly for 6 weeks at The Hardware Store Event Venue.
Students will be thoughtfully grouped according to instructional readiness and reading development following a brief pre assessment meeting with Suzanne Mechler. Families will not select their child’s group time. Students will be assigned to either a Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday group at either 10am or 11am based on placement and group fit.
This is a 6 week commitment because strong reading growth does not happen overnight. Our brains grow through small, repeated exposure and consistent practice over time. These workshops were intentionally designed to provide that repetition, consistency, and support in a small group setting.
Please register for a brief pre assessment meeting with Suzanne Mechler to help determine the best workshop placement for your child.
The placement screening to determine workshop group fit is complimentary.
This 6 week Reading Workshop session will be available for Direct Pay through EMA. Search “Suzanne Mechler” in Find Providers and reserve funds through Step Up for Students.
If you do not use a Step Up scholarship, please note that in your registration form and an invoice will be sent to you directly.
Afternoon art enrichment is also available at The Hardware Store and hosted independently by Ms. Chelsea.
