Learning On Location

Learning On Location 〰️
More than a class. More than a field trip.
Every experience is intentionally designed by a Florida certified teacher and homeschool mom who works with students every week and sees where they need more support and practice.
These are not filler activities.
They are focused, skill-building experiences that help students grow in meaningful ways.
Earth Day: The Upcycle experience
From workshops to community gatherings, here's what we have coming up. Mark your calendar—we'd love to see you there.
Animal Adaptations Live Experience
Animal Adaptations Live Experience - $20 per student
featuring animal visitors from The Florida Aquarium
Ages 4 and up. Each child attending must have a reserved space. Infants who remain with a parent at all times are welcome. Capacity is based on registered children.
Discover the incredible adaptations that help animals survive in their environments and why each one plays an important role in its ecosystem.
Students will participate in a live, interactive program led by outreach educators from the Florida Aquarium, featuring real animal ambassadors. The animal ambassador collection may include baby alligators, lizards, snakes, turtles, and toads, with a selection of three animals presented.
This experience is designed to help students observe closely, ask thoughtful questions, and make meaningful connections between structure, behavior, and environment.
What is included in the cost:
Live animal program with outreach educators from the Florida Aquarium
A curated Learning on Location Guide delivered via email that includes
Pre learning activities to prepare and scaffold understanding
Post learning activities to reinforce and extend what was learned
Each element is designed to help students engage more deeply and retain what they learn.
Parents remain with their children to support a respectful and focused learning environment.
Suzanne Mechler will facilitate the full experience, beginning with an introduction to key concepts, guiding attention during the presentation, and closing with a recap and optional question and answer session for families about all things homeschooling and scholarships.
This experience is part of a larger vision to cultivate meaningful learning opportunities and connection within the Brooksville homeschooling community.
Main Event Wesley Chapel: Laser Tag & Arcade Stem Labs
Main Event Wesley Chapel: Laser Tag & Arcade Stem Labs
This event is a structured math and science enrichment experience, combining hands on labs with guided instruction and teacher created extension activities. Students will participate in two facilitated STEM labs led by Main Event staff, followed by additional enrichment designed by a certified teacher to deepen understanding and application.
Check in with Suzanne Mechler upon arrival, more details will also be emailed to the parent prior to the event.
Laser Tag Lab: focus on Science: Reflection and Refraction
Students will explore the scientific principles of reflection and refraction through a guided laser tag experience. Each student will first participate in a focused activity using mirrors inside the arena to observe how light changes direction and can be used strategically. After guided practice, students will apply these concepts during gameplay, using reflection to make predictions and improve outcomes. The session concludes with a discussion connecting their observations to scientific concepts and vocabulary.
Arcade Lab: focus on Math and Science: Energy, Percentages, and Variables
This multi part lab engages students in applied mathematics and physics through interactive stations:
Air Hockey: Kinetic and potential energy in motion
Basketball: Percentages, accuracy, and variables affecting outcomes
Skee Ball: Variables, prediction, and pattern recognition
Students will rotate through each station with guided questioning from the facilitator, encouraging critical thinking, estimation, and real time problem solving.
Extended Learning and Application In addition to the labs, students will receive:
Two additional hours of bowling, laser tag, gravity ropes, and billiards with a structured enrichment activity connecting them to math and science concepts and physical education.
A ten dollar game card to continue exploring cause and effect, variables, and strategic thinking through arcade games.
A certified teacher designed enrichment packet with additional activities to reinforce math and science concepts before, during, and after the event.
This experience is intentionally designed to connect real world environments with academic concepts in math and science, providing meaningful enrichment that extends beyond the classroom.
